Yes. They brought me into this world, thought me values and invested in educating me.
I try to make them proud in return. Turning a person from baby to college graduate is a pretty big personal achievement too!

Parents who just don't respect or trust their children are sad. Since parents should trust and respect their kids from the start (i.e. who wants an untrusting and disrespectful parent) then that means if you have to earn it again - you lost it in the first place. You must have done something real bad.
Kids shouldn't have to wait 30 years for their parents to trust them. It's unhealthy development.

At 35 years of age, I hope so. Yes I believe I have- problem sometimes is trying to understand Alzheimer's. My dad has it and he goes in and out, which is sad for me.

yes, I've earned it at my early age... I most of the time decide for myself, which is unusual in our tradition, but I always reason out that it is my life and I have to manage it so I won't pin point anybody for my failure. ;-)
