They should so the Twins can snag him, and get a better third basemen.

Because they have plenty of hitting already. A trade with the White Sox for a starting pitcher like Garcia, a good reliever and Joe Crede, I think that would be possible if the Yankees decide to let A-Rod go. Don't be suprised if the Yanks don't go after Bonds either they would be the 1 team I think he would be willing to take a big pay cut to play for. Bonds relocating his family would be the only stumbling block.

I love a-rod! Especially when he strikes out with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the playoffs.
Since he's joined the yankees they haven't won a world series!
So keep him for 10 more years!!!!

i think that they should trade him, if they can get some sort of fair value for him
the reason i wouldnt trade him is because he is gonna be miserable in NY untill he wins a WS, and seeing how they are treating him im not even sure if theyll have his back then
they shouldnt just unload him though. im a mariners fan, and no one seems to take into account that ichiro came to the mariners, and then they won 116 games, they didnt get better just because a-rod left. If a-rod would have been there they might have won it all
a-rod is not the reason the yankees havent won a world series
think back to the 2004 ALCS, a-rod would have been a hero if rivera wouldnt have blown that save in game 4

they should get rid of him, he is a loser. I mean, honestly, look at his track record. In Seattle they were losing, they got rid of A-Rod the next year they set a record for wins. Texas got the cursed one next, and they started their losing season streak until they traded him off to the Yankees, now Texas is doing much better than before. If the Yankees get rid of him then they will probably win the world series. It is just my assessment, the guy is a loser and a jinx.

It goes back a few years to the Boston Playoffs when A-Rod tried to affect the outcome of a game by hitting the glove of the first baseman to dislodge the ball and thus give Steinbrenner another hope to come back. That in itself should be construed as Racketeering under the RICO laws except they don't apply to Baseball as it has an exemption passed by Congress as being a sport and not an "business".

They should NOT. He is coming off a mediocre year for him and will now have a career year to make up for it. I wish the Yankees would trade him to the Red Sox where he would play shortstop. That would be a dream come true for Red Sox fans and all of Red Sox Nation!!
Chow!!

Welcome to Anaheim.... :) He's a great player who had a awful year.. yankee fans dont know how to appreciate what they have then he deserves to go to another team were he can start over. The only reason A- Rod should stay ( if he does) is to put up better numbers and shut all those fans up.

First A-roid contract is so huge no longer many suitors secondly his stats nevertheless reliable would over cost him if Yankees needed a go back on funding. ultimately he has in contract perks about $ for 763 as a Yankee. What crew would honor that albatross.

Reason: Because they need someone to blame the last 6-7 years on, the "trade away the future" mentality, ancient pitching and... oh yes, the northeast blackout of 2003.
Now for the couple of Angels fans who commented... How about I give you George Steinbrenner instead... PLEASE!! I'll throw in a couple of Steinbrenner Bobble Heads to sweeten the pot plus a year's supply of turtle neck sweaters. How about it?
No? Geez... nobody wants him...
Fine, you had your chance... Let me give the Red Sox a call...

If for no other reason than his value for a trade is very high. We could get two starting "A" players for him. I am not sure that Alex can get over that he was booed in his home park. That really rattled him last year and it won't get any better if he doesn't perform.
