have pictures taken of you outside on a clear sunny day out of direct sunlight meaning don't have the sun directly behind you in the picture
outside pics always look better than inside lighting
or just get some taken by a photographer
everyone can look good in photos just takes some time and playing around with lighting and angles a bit

I don't photograph well either. I would say that lighting plays a major role though. Just smile and wish for the best, that's what I do!

It's might be the equipment or the photographer. But you're probably being too critical of yourself would be my guess. Your photo looks fine to me.

I am the same and the older I get the worse photos are.
Just seen the proofs of my daughters wedding, best are the ones I wasn't aware were being taken.
Most of the time look fatter than I am with 2 double chins1

hey- you aren't going to be photogenic if you think you can't take a good picture. just don't think the camera is there- act naturally. don't think about how you act...
anyway- most of the time a camera takes a picture of who you really are- its just hard to accept that sometimes,,,
