To kill the odor in the shoes, the best product is Dr. Scholl's Odor Destroyers. It's a white powder that you sprinkle in the shoes, and it works INCREDIBLY well! It also comes in a spray, and other types of products. It destroys the odor and gets rid of it, unlike other products that just mask the odor without doing anything about it. For the smell in the closet, try to air it out, and hang some sort of air freshner in there as you would a car. You can spray something, but once again that will only mask it and not cause it to leave. If it is a clothes closet and the clothes have picked up the odor, wash them. Any other items that may have the odor can also be eradicated using Febreze. This should help, and make your closet smelling a lot fresher! Good luck!

There are several things you can do. Baking soda will absorb odors and there are special packages so you can sit it on a shelf and it won't spill. Try cleaning the shoes too. If they are washable wash them. Try spraying the insides with Lysol spray to kill the bacteria that causes the order. If you still have a smell you probably need to buy some new shoes.
