Because of so many reasons, and if I'm not wrong, these are some of it:
1. Some measurements of the Great Pyramid represent the circumference of the earth, which at that time, nobody knows that earth was round!
2. The way it is constructed. Each stone is weighs 100 ton, that it needs to be carried by crane and there are only 2 such cranes in the world that can hold 100 tons of weight, not to mention ancient time, there is no such crane. And if carried by men, you require so many men that the narrow passageway, cannot accomodate the number of people at all. Till now, it is said that with modern technology, no one can build the exact pyramid.
3. The passageway and chambers inside, is not cut out. It was formed with the perfect alignment of the stones.
4. The Sphinx, is originally a symbol of Leo, and facing the Leo stars in the sky.
5. Pictures taken from above which shows the whole layout of the Pyramids of Giza with the Nile River, is an exact replica of the Leo star in the galaxy and the milky way beside it (represents the nile river)
Others I can't really recall, but if you are interested, you can read more from this book "Keepers of the Genesis"

As for why *would desire to* or no longer it is, one reason is the severe length, and we nevertheless do no longer relatively understand the way it replaced into geared up, because of the fact it replaced into geared up out of fairly extensive blocks, a techniques extra desirable than human beings would desire to hold.

About two thousand years ago, while the Roman Rule, some thinking subjects of the Empire tried to classify everything, including structures, etc. Thus, in the structures they end up classifying the 7 wonders of the ancient world, including the Pyramids, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the rest five were Greek!
All of them, are great but further include some mystery that people could not comprehend!
Thus, among the reasons are: size, style, message, technical reasoning and indications, location importance, etc.

If you had seen them you would have no question, in fact they would still be there if the list were much shorter... For them to have been constructed such a long period ago without benefit of today's technology is astounding.

mostly due to the fact that engineers today can not find a definate way that the egyptians built the pyramids with primitive tools such as logs, rope, and chisels.

You try building them.
All you've got are wooden logs, quarry thousands of miles away, a lot of sand and some slaves.
They'd be a triumph of engineering in the modern world, let alone 4000 years ago.

Modern scientist still cannot figure out how they built them. They were so mathematically precise its amazing. That just shows the infinite potential we as human beings posses......And I might add that they are an example that every black/African child should be exposed to as early in their life as possible.
