i have a family member that is rather well off, he just traded in his Cadillac Escalade for a brand new Coupe De Ville. Anyways, about a year and a half ago he said if I needed a car (before I had one) that i could see him and we could pick one out and he good put me on a payment plan i could live with. Now that I do need a car i cant find it in myself to ask because I do not want to come off greedy or whatever maybe needy. And i also do not want to hint at it, this guy is smart, and he will sniff it out (which might not be a bad thing). What I am trying to say is how can i do this respectfully without seeming to _______ (cant think of the word)

Just ask the guy.. if he is pretty cashed up he wont care too much, make sure you stick to whatever payment plan you both agree on otherwise he will lose respect for you and think twice if you ask for any help again

hi,

just tell him that you have been trying to sort things yourself but you could really do with the help he mentioned before - ask his advice and guidance - appeal to his vanity and genrousity and play it 100% straight and it will be OK.

cheers

Get a car loan from a bank. Don't borrow from family, it never ends well.
