Why are arms "folded" and legs "crossed", when surely they mean the same thing?

lol, you can do both with your arms but sounds funny with legs being folded, but you can do that as well, you fold your legs under you for instance when you curl up in a chair

If you could fold your legs and curl them around your wrists then I think you could say you fold your legs , try it the position answer your question, there are now alot of people trying this.

maybe because one is horizontal and the other is vertical
