has his gas tank run out already? and don't say he doesn't have a supporting cast... he didn't last year and kicked butt, and this year he actually has decent players. ex: Semin

Not sure what is wrong. Caps started off doing pretty well, now have lost 6 in a row :-( I agree that Semin should help Ovechkin out. Let's hope both can get on a roll - remember still long time to go in the season

I dont think there is anything wrong with Ovechkin. He is averaging over a point a game and if you look at the scoring from last year to this year it is way down everywhere (isnt Jagr leading the league with 30 points?- Alexander is 5 points off the pace). It doesnt take long for teams to figure out a defensive system to shut down top players and another factor is power plays across the league again are way down when compared to last season. As long as he stays healthy he is one of 6 or 7 players in the entire league that will finish with a 100 point season. Ovechkins star will continue to shine brightly for many years.

Nothing, I think teams are learning how to handle him a little better but he's still putting up some good numbers. He is also working on his defensive game right now, it's what the coach wants. He also wants to be a more complete player. I seen Hanlon talking about on t.v the other day... He'll pick it up when his defensive game becomes a little more natural to him...

That's pretty good, but just not as good as last year. Every player falls into a bit of a slump and I would hardly call this a slump. Don't worry, he's a great player. Maybe it's the sophomore curse.

Trade him to the Canucks. He's done. You guys can have Naslund.

Probably sophomore jinx but he'll be fine by season's end.

Seem like decent points to me. Averaging more than a point a game....not too bad.
