Hypothetically speaking, if we were at war in a foreign country and the consensus among the media ( ABC, CBS, NBC ) was that the situation for the U.S. was bad, but the White House said it was good- who would you believe ?

Ouch, which devil to choose...news looking for ratings and good news doesn't pull it in...White House looking for good poll ratings and bad new doesn't pull those number up....hmmmm guess I'd have to take media and just believe only part of what they report and look the rest up with other media outlets.

Trust Noone. You'd have to take both the Media and the white house into consideration before making your own judgment. Trust is such a strong word considering the sources. Bias is human nature and you will find it in heaps in both the media and the White House. Everyone has their own agenda, no matter how objective they are trying to be.

I would go with the news agencies. They may only go for the bad news but they always tell it truthfully. I would try to get both sides in the media (going with CNN and Fox News Channel both), but I would trust the media far more than anything the White House puts out.

I trust a respnsible news media to push for answers from a deceitful government, and that doesn't necessarily mean canned broadcasts from the major networks. There are plenty print journalists who are pursuing the stories that need to be written.

I trust the media more than the government. However, I don't trust any single media outlet more than I do the government.

The fact that the media generates multiple points of view is what makes it more trustworthy than the government.

The media, hands down. But I would trust the BBC before any of our broadcast stations.

I use Havana Cuba and Latina prensa. They are as good as any of them. I voted for GW Bush both times http://www.prensa-latina.org/

Neither! Personal experience is the only truth; what you see right in front of your eyes.

I don't believe anything I read or hear, and I only believe half of what I see.
