Yes! you don't need a passport but any form of photo ID is essential - especially with terrorism!

Belfast is part of the U.K. and you therefore do not need an I.D. Card to enter Northern Ireland. If you are a tourist from another county, your driving license or passport will suffice in case you have an emergency.

They usually will at Belfast (thats where i live) but any photo id is usually acceptable - eg drivers licience. Good Luck!!

No. I have been back and forward on the boats before and have never been asked for ID.

a resounding NO. You are staying in the uk, if you were to go to dublin you would need a form of i.d but still not a passport

Nope. I do that when I'm driving home and no-one has asked me for anything yet, apart from the booking reference. You are travelling inter UK.

they will ask for id because you are leaving the mainland

depends what airline you are going on
ryanair and other low fare airplane flight need proof of id but other airlines like aer lingus and british airways won't
by law you should be able to travel to any european countries without a passport so fight for your right!!
