Trust me I used to find math very hard work but if you keep trying you'll train your brain to think differently. It's like training your body. It takes time but in the end you'll find the work much easier.
My advice is choose a topic like fractions and nail it by doing plenty of questions. Then choose another topic like algebra and nail that too with plenty of questions etc etc etc. Do it in your own time at home because school isn't for learning, it's for preventing naughty children from vandalising things during the day.

the trick lies in not thinking of maths as a challenge but to think of it as something beautiful and accept it.
one beautiful thing about math is patterns,. try to learn more on how nature can be explained using math. fibonnaci series is a good place to start with.
did u know that the tiny seeds that lace the outside of a strawberry are laid out in a pattern determined in the same way that sunflower seeds, pine cones, and cacti are. a pineapple's outer surface is ruled by the same pattern. and the same fibonacci series will lead to some constant that somehow can be found all over ur body!
math is beautiful.
