On the flock of sheep, the rest having been covered: not any old shepherd, (and it refers to London bridge itself) but it is held as one of the classic rights of a Freeman of the city of London. (URL below added afterwards)

Though I am a Freeman of the City of London
(admitted through being a fellow of a worshipful company, in my case the 60th, in order of precedence.) I have never exercised that particular right, nor that of carrying a drawn sword within the confines of the City.

London's fun, from the stories of plague pits to the lost underground stations...

The Regents Palace Hotel was Crown Estate before being a hotel (i.e. it was owned by the Monarchy of Great Britain). The family involved were the Lyon family, famous for Lyon & Co Ltd.

Hello dear!
Well, I know the first ones to make a colony there, from which London was developed was the Greeks who traveled there to found the new Troy, under the advice of the Oracle of Artemis of Melite (today's Malta), some 3,300 years ago.
Since then, great progress took place, as the Oracle promised!
