Here is a tip my Grandma gave me for the longevity of any tights.

FREEZE THEM!

There is some process that works to make tights last longer, if before we wear them, we freeze them completely.

And you needn't think that you will get cold from putting frozen tights on. They are such a light material that they warm up almost instantaneously when you remove them from the freezer.

But it really does work. I wear really light denier tights and stockings. When I buy them, I get them home and immediately throw them in the freezer until I'm ready to wear them. I have had 10 denier stockings last me a week instead of just one day, doing this!

If they last long enough to need a washing, then you hand wash them in your sink using a mild soap. Wring them out as good as possible, then pop them into a sandwich bag and throw them into the freezer again. If you leave them for a couple of days, they will be dry by the time you take them out.

I know it sounds stupid, but it really does work! It's not going to hurt you or cost you anything to try this.

If I get patterned tights they usually last me a day or two - thick opaque tights last for about 4 wearings - but sheer tights hardly last a day

Obesely? I don't think it makes much difference to tights what you weigh, though you should diet because obesity is bad for the health.
Opaque tights are best.

If they're less than 30 dernier, they will shred within minutes, whatever I do.
More than 30, hm, say three days.
60 or more lasts me an entire winter.
