Depends what kind of hogwash the schools are corrupting your kids brain with. Apparently everything seems to be abstenince, abstenince, abstenince these days. Does that actually work? A TX based study says not at all, and other studies say that atleast half of all teens have engaged in oral. Anyone know what the actual intercourse percentage is? I cant find it. Besides, whats a teens first response to something thats 'forbidden'?
Want to teach your kids about sex, actually TEACH them about it. About the dangers of unprotected sex, how the consequences of such can potentialy screw lives. Teach them sex isnt just sex or 'f*ing around'. Its sacred, its to be cherished. The more they actually know, the more likely, I think, theyll wait.

IF the parents are actually going to teach their children about it, then great. They can be open and honest, respond to questions in a personal setting (rather than a classroom full of their peers), and also talk about thier personal beliefs and expectations. However, alot of parents seem to avoid the issue all together. When I have children, I will talk to them about it. But for the children whos parents refuse to talk about it, or withhold information, I hope that somewhere, someone knowledgable will talk to them. I would much rather that a child learn the facts and be allowed to ask questions without embarassment or shame than try to pick up random information here and there from movies, tv, music, and misinformed friends.

Provided the parents have the correct information they also have the opportunity to talk about the responsibility that comes with having sex as well as opening up conversations between them and their child about thier beliefs and hopes and standards.

Your child hopefully gets the truth! peer education can be deadly, and school sex education hits and miss! your child trust you, and will believe most of what you say if you keep it REAL!
