This is a question for all them ghetto girls and guys out there. Please tell me, do you really thinks its cute acting like a gangsta? Do you think of yourself as being more intimidating by using profanity at least seven times in one sentence. I just don't understand why people want to be like that and claim it like it's an honor. I find people like that to be so F-A-K-E and ridiculous. It makes me laugh, it makes sick, it makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with these people. Why do the girls talk with such attitude and walk around with their butt and chest popped way out (they resemble chickens to me) Im so irritated by these ghetto folks and am just wondering what all the hype is about. Why do people say " I was raised in the ghetto and that's why I act the way I do...it's a way of life..bla bla bla"???? Well I lived there and you don't see me walking around looking like a fool.

they act that way out of insecurity...they view themselves as inadequate losers and have a compelling need to act tough.

take it from someone raised in an inner city: the "ghetto" culture is the most vile culture to be raised among. the only thing a kid learns from his "gangsta" friends is how to be nothing but a disrespectful, ignorant and overly-depending leech.
If you have children, and if the kids in your neighborhood act and dress "gangsta", please move away to a more decent environment.

It's cool to be who you are, if you are from the ghetto, yes, sure, it only makes sense that you "act" ghetto. If you are from the country, it only makes sense that you act country, like wise for the valley girls, and the small town people, we are who we are, but KNOWING who you are in a very diverse world is who stands out as "cool".

Baring in mind everyone's interpretation of cool is different.

I agree with Mary, it depends mostly on which communities have influenced you the most. If acting ghetto amongst your friends gets you laid and respected, I'm sure they wouldn't want anything else.
