I had a "minor" bleed (one large lemon sized clot and one small inch long clot w/ about 20 minutes of slow bleeding) and went to the ER this weekend, I was diagnosed w/ Placenta Previa. I am only 13 weeks and know that there is a great chance my placenta will move up. Has anyone else experienced this? How was your pregnancy? Did you have any more bleeds? Did you have to be hospitalized? Any answers would be appreciated!

I had placenta previa with my third child and luckily the placenta moved up into place sometime in my second trimester. Chances are yours will, too. If it doesn't, you will undoubtedly be referred to a high-risk ob who will take every step to ensure a safe delivery. Don't worry - stress hurts our bodies more than we think and you can't afford to hurt yours now!!

Placenta previa is cause by the placenta covering the cervix opening. Your placenta may be low lying, but as the baby grows it can move the placenta higher in the uterus. You need to refrain from sex and strenuous work until your doctor confirms that the placenta has moved away from your cervix opening and bleeding has stopped. It was early on my pregnancy when this happened, but as my son grew he moved the placenta to a higher position. You would have to be on bedrest or hospitalized if the bleeding continued. Take it easy until you know your placenta has moved. Good luck and congratulations.

permit me provide you some desire! I had total placenta previa with my final infant. It exchange into desperate at week 28. My OB instructed me that there exchange into no way it would flow sufficient out of a thank you to furnish vaginally. whilst somebody has partial placenta previa, the percentages are extra effective that the placenta will flow and you will furnish vaginally. properly, I had total placenta previa. At week 36, yet another ultasound exchange into completed. My placenta had thoroughly moved out of ways and that i exchange into able to furnish vaginally. that isn't the norm and you're able to be arranged for a c-area, even though it could take place. I prayed, plenty, and that i've got confidence He replied my prayers. i'm no longer an excessively non secular man or woman, yet i'm giving the credit to the better skill. superb of luck to you!!!!!!

Hey! I had it with my first and didn't have any problems (other than bad morning sickness) You may end up having more ultrasounds than "normal" if the placenta doesn't move by the 18 week u.s. Mine moved well out of the way by 36 weeks and I had a normal delivery.

Good luck and if there are any more clots, head to the ER right away.

I had it with my last pregnancy. I bleed the one time and Dr said my placenta was over my cervix. As the months went by it did move up because the blood supply there isn't good. I had a healthy full term baby and vaginal delivery!

I had that with my first pregnancy. Scared the crap out of me. My pregnancy went fine. I didn't bleed at all, the ultrasound diagnosed it. I never went into the hospital until it was time to be induced. Relax, you'll do fine!!
