Remember the women's 100m track event? The Black runner from USA was beaten by Yuliya Nesterinko from Belarus. Remember the women's swimming events? The USA swimmer was defeated by the swimmer from Zimbabwe: Kirsty Coventry, a White girl from a Black country that had never before earned any Olympic medals. So the USA can be defeated. They have a lot of money to spend on training their athletes, but they can still lose.
However, even if Mexico wins, all the Mexican players still have to go home after the game. You don't get to stay in the USA. It's not a prize of the game.
