My personal favorite is the one about the alligators that have been living in the sewers of New York City for thousand of years and have evolved to the point where they are albino and blind, like cave fish.

The weird events connected to the Mothman began on November 12, 1966 near Clendenin, West Virginia. Five men were in the local cemetery that day, preparing a grave for a burial, when something that looked like a “brown human being” lifted off from some nearby trees and flew over their heads. The men were baffled. It did not appear to be a bird, but more like a man with wings. A few days later, more sightings would take place, electrifying the entire region.

MY favorite of the Urban myths was the one that was circulating back in the late 80's and early 90's about a woman that had contracted HIV from someone that knew thay were positive and didn't tell her. In her bitteness, she would go into bars, pick up men, sleep with them, then leave a message in bright red lipstick on their mirrors telling them that she was hiv positive that they would find when they woke up after she left...as far as I know no one was ever able to proove that this happened nor find anyone that it had actually happened too...it was always someone that knew someone that knew someone that had it happen to a relative...

The best one that i have heard is the one about the Lady who was playing hide & seek on her wedding night with some friends, got into an old wooden box & got locked in & nobody found her until she was just a skeleton & Legend has it that the box is haunted by her & her skeleton sits up in it whilst a ghostly voice can be heard singing the wedding march. My other favourite is the Brown Lady & The Beast of the Norfolk Broads

There was a story goin 'round in the late 80's/early 90's that Phil Collin's song "In the Air Tonight" was written about a guy who kidnapped Phil and a friend when they were young and Phil got away but the friend was killed. Years later, when he was rich, Phil Collins hired an investigator to find the guy, sent him a ticket to a concert and the guy went, not knowing Phil Collins was the boy he had kidnapped years earlier. Phil started singing that song and a spotlight was shown on the man and he realized the truth, had a heart attack and died.
Turns out the song is actually written about Phil's ex-wife and their divorce.
