"Healthy mind in a healthy body." If your grades are still good, I think it would be a good idea to keep doing both (basketball and homework) as long as you can.
You might need to just juggle your schedule a little. Can you get some or most of it done in study hall or at lunch? (-: Teachers hate this, but I would often figure out what the homework assignment was going to be, and I'd do the homework while they were lecturing. Is there anyway you can do some homework on the bus or in the car? (I get terribly motion sick, so that wasn't an option for me.)

Well, believe it or not, every athlete in school is in the same boat as you. Maybe some athletes have easier classes and does not have near as much homework, but on the other hand there are some that have harder classes and a lot more homework than you. You just have to find some sort of balance and routine, and if you really want to play basketball, it may even be neccessary to give up something else.

do u call urself a baller or a player. and that is the bottom line
a player is someone who plays basketball for leisure purposes and thinks of ball as an option in their life
a baller's LIFE IS BASKETBALL.
there are no similarites between them cause if you were a true baller, you know deep down you would neva quit ball. quit going out, on the phone ur girl or guy, if you have to to finish ur homework cause that is also very important. BUT NEVA BALL
talk to your coach tell him or her u cant come to a practise or two to finish ur school work, your coach will understand.

Yes, you should quit. Anyone who ever thought about quitting should just step away. Those who still love the game never contemplate about leaving it, but find away to work it all out. Stepping away might be good so you can find the love for the game once again. Just like everything else, you will never know what you are missing until it is gone.

If your grades are good and you are willing to make the extra sacrifice it takes to play Basketball then DONT QUIT! I quit baseball in high school for the same reason and I really regret it now!

School should always come first, but extracurricular activities is also very good for you, try balancing your homework in the early morning, or late night. Always remember though, that sleep is also very important.

No, you shouldn't. Colleges want to know if you can handle different activities while you are taking classes. It's better to have a "B" average and participate in activities, than to have an "A" average and participate in none or one activity.
