Many say we are doing a great job in Iraq and that the newspapers are exaggerating the dangers. If that is the case, then why can't Bush even meet with a politician in Baghdad three years after we took the country?

Hahaha, Happy Heathen is an idiot and totally missed my point. I know that Bush can't go to Iraq because it is too dangerous. However, many people are in denial about Iraq being so dangerous. Why don't you go back to your coloring? Hahahahahaha

Roger K, I'm pretty sure that Iran and Turkey share a border. So I don't think that's a credible answer.

Simply put, Baghdad is in the middle of a war zone and as we all know, Bush has been avoiding war zones since around 1970.

Bush can't publicly say about how badly things are going in Iraq, because I think the only support he has is from right wing Republicans.
Baghdad is just too dangerous. Over 200 people were killed in Baghdad last month alone. That's just a staggering amount of carnage.
That's why I guess he wants to meet the Iraqi President in Jordan. And also, managing that event would be cheaper, in terms of security measures.
There were even fears that Bush's in Baghdad visit might even flare up the violence.
Iraq really is in a sad state of affairs.

Why circulate to the bowels of Hell once you do no longer could. Pull each and every of the troops out and initiate the carpet bombing and then hose down what's left. enable Haliburton rebuild the oil refineries and make hundreds of thousands for Dick and his pals. There are greater extreme human atrocities going on in Africa than there ever became into in Iraq, yet because of the fact Africa doesn’t have any oil or serve a geographical / political purpose for the U. S. we do no longer something. It’s all with regard to the oil!!! do slightly analyze each and every of the politicos in D.C. have large inventory portfolios interior the oil agencies. twist of fate??? no longer infrequently.

Are you referring to President Bush's meeting with King Abdullah in Jordan? Earlier stev answered:
"Its not about safety. It wasn't safe in Baghdad 2 years ago and its not safe now.
Bush is going to Jordan to ask King Abdullah, an Arab, to mediate between fellow Arab groups of Shia and Sunni in Iraq.
This is a good move on the president's part, knowing that most Arabs only respect the words of other Arabs"

So....lemme get this straight. You are suggesting that, for the sake of trying to make a point, that two world leaders have tea in the middle of a neighborhood where literally thousands of people are being blown to bits? Everyone knows that this administration is in denial. Bush may be an idiot, but he's not suicidal. Get real.
Maybe he should send Cheney in his place. He could bring his rifle and fire off a few rounds. How's that for a win-win idea?
See how ridiculous it is to try and make a point with a lame suggestion?

Yeah, we sure have that situation under control. Everything is going so well the President of the United States cannot even enter the country. Well, in the sense maybe the Iraqis are more fortunate than us.

It's not safe enough. You can't have such a high value target in such a dangerous area. Our enemies would stop at nothing to harm him.
