That's absolutely right! Just because some businesses operate in a certain way doesn't mean we have to act like they do. After all, they're catering to a much wider audience than we are, and their goals are different. We can do as we please.
We should greet people in a way that we are sincere in doing, and we should give only from the heart, not the wallet. Togetherness is much more important than presents.
Merry Christmas and Happy Yule!

I think as soon as everyone starts focusing on the REAL meaning of Christmas, they will have a much better and stessless holiday season. It is the birth of Christ that is the true reason for celebration. The spirit of giving was displayed by him during his time on earth, and by his death on the cross. Salvation is a gift to EVERYONE! That is how I celebrate my Christmas. Merry Christmas, and God Bless.

Want to give the ACLU a Christmas present?
Send them a Christmas Card! It is time to get out your CHRISTMAS cards list! As the ACLU are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice CHRISTIAN card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world. Make sure it says "Merry CHRISTMAS" on the inside only. Here's the address; just don't be rude or crude. (It's not the Christian way, you know!) ACLU 125 Broad Street 18th Floor New York, NY 10004 Two tons of CHRISTMAS cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave CHRISTMAS alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a "Holiday Tree". . . . It's a CHRISTMAS Tree! Pass this on to your e-mail buddies.

Society does not dictate anything. There is no law to be involved. I get a little tired of people continuously whining about commercialism and then run off to Walmart.

No, yet I do agree that elementary experience, making plans forward, morality and environmental concerns are the best of our concerns and the industry does not rule. we are in a place to all discover the thank you to triumph over the Republicans and their $one hundred forty in keeping with barrel of oil!

Exactly.
It's unfortunate that some people so desperately need to feel "persecuted" that they've had to invent a War on Christmas.
Merry Xmas to all--Do what thou wilt!

excellent point and one needs to " think outside the box " and not let the Holiday spoil the pleasure one receives from the way one does things.
