Depending on your medical problems. If you have orthopedic problems an the apartment has stairs then yes. If you have the added expense of medical bills and can not afford your rent no. If you break your lease agreement just make sure your landlord knows about it first and why. you won't get your deposit back if you break it, but there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to get out of a lease if you have medical problems. You just have to let your landlord know you are going to break it, because you could end up seeing a lawsuit later if you don't. But yes you can break your lease agreement!

Probably not, unless perhaps the living conditions are contributing to your medical problems. But if the only issue is your ability to afford the rental payments due to excessive medical costs, no, probably not.
If this is a financial issue, ask them to work with you. They may be more reasonable than you think.

Technically no. However, if you approach your landlord/management co and tell them you will bear some responsibility, I'm sure they will accommodate you. Remember the worst case is they could still enforce the terms on the lease you singed.
