surely putting their name to daewoo's range won't help their image one little bit? i mean they're alright cars, but they're just not chevys...

G.M. didn,t have a small car, its cheaper to buy into a company thats already producing a small car than it is to tool-up and build one from scratch. Its all about economics.
I bought a 2004 Optra-5 SE, its fully loaded with air,tilt, cruise,power everything and is really nice ,so far no complaints.
The Optra is one up from the Aveo.

because they can build cars cheaper and by GM designing cars on a similar platform they can be built with ease
