It has always been my family tradition to put up the tree no earlier than the day after Thanksgiving, and take it down by New Years Day! I believe that you shouldn't start decorating for a holiday before another holiday has passed. For example, putting up your Christmas tree before Thanksgiving, or putting up turkeys and Thanksgiving items before Halloween.

You can put it up when ever! I've always put mine up the day/weekend after Thanksgiving. My neighbors had their decorations up this weekend and slowly, but surely, all the other houses around town are starting to look a little brighter at night:) My office just put there tree up today:)

There's no right or wrong. Put it up whenever you'd like to. Most people put their tree up on the day after Thanksgiving.

My decorations went up on November 1st. The tree will be going up in the next week since it is going to be a real tree. I usually have my tree up November 1st when I use an artificial tree! Merry Christmas!!

We always do it the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so our house is already all decked out for Christmas. It was a beautiful weekend, too, so we were able to get all the outdoor lights up. 4 other houses on our street did their lights on Saturday, too.
