They first trained them to walk in a circle on land, using the same qualified horse-trainer who works for Barnum's circus in the States. Then they employed the coach of the 2004 Canadian Olympic synchronised swimming team to take them into the water, initially with day-glo swimming caps and flowery costumes, later completely naked. Then somebody filmed them from underneath. It's simple really.
