I know with both of mine I had my ultrasound done at around 4 -1/2 months along. (I found out both of their sexes.)
It all depends though on the baby's position, if he's being "cooperative" I guess.

You can usaully tell by the 18Th to 20TH week. The longer you wait the better chance that you'll have as long as the baby cooroperates and opens up the legs. The next time you go for your monthly apppointment ask your OBGYN how long you should wait to have the ultrasound in order to tell the sex of your baby.

You can actually find out around 16 weeks but the docs like to wait until it's aabpout 18-20 weeks so there is a lesss chance for mistakes, i am friends with a girl who is 15 weeks and 5 days and she just founf out she's having a boy, i am 17 weeks nad they said it's moving too much

It's best done between 18 to 26 weeks. It has been done as early as week 16.

Ask your OBGYN, that's your best bet..Word of advice, when they tell you to come in with a full bladder, do it! I didn't and the fullness I guess helps to push the baby upwards more. I didn't know the sex of either of my girls til the day they were born. I wanted to know but it never happened.

Usually somewhere around your 20 week checkup the midwife will have an ultrasound ordered and you can ask them if you want to know and if you don't want to know they won't tell you.
