Because certain things aren't for the whole world to see. Unless you like taking a crap or having sex in public.

So we can rehearse for public. Also sometimes we want to do things that not everyone wants to see. I'm sure you don't want to see what most people do when they're behind closed doors. Would you really want someone watching you in the bathroom or when you just wake up in the morning, etc. I guess the need for privacy is cultural. We really don't need it but this modern world where things are stressful its good to have some chill time. Also its hard to think and organize your thoughts if there's always people around.

Why you ask that? It's normal to do some stuff in privacy ( i don't think you want to go to the loo in the middle of busy street). Personal privacy is important to feel save, secure and have some time to think

it depends on the culture and atmosphere they were brought up in. in alot of cultures, communal living is the norm, and the want of privacy is unusual. but on the other hand, i think that all people desire a certain measure of time to themselves.
