Yeah, I kinda do. I don't think that he would have come forward on his own. He knew he screwed up and would have liked to keep that on the down low.

I saw an interview with the two young men in the audience. They explained how they were a part of a large group that was in attendance that night. This group was just arriving while Richards was on stage. This group had 20 people in it and they made some noise while being seated and ordering drinks and Richards didn't like it. They said he started it, and I believe them. Sure, they called him names too, but only after he directed his anger on them. He was so very wrong to do so, and he should apologize.

Now, having said that, I have to also mention that I also saw Jesse Jackson's interview following Richards appearance on his radio show. Rev. Jackson told the press that he believed Richards was genuine in his apology, but he didn't say that the black community should forgive him. As a man of God, and if he believes Richards is being heartfelt, he should be doing more to ease the tension about this whole thing. The Black Community is mad, as they should be. They look to men like Rev. Jackson and Rev. Sharpton for guidance. I just don't feel that these two men, esteemed as they are, are doing all that they can to ease these angry hearts.

I'll close this out now, sorry to ramble. I will say though that I felt like I needed a shower after I watched the video of Richard's tirade. What he said was horrible and in so very bad taste, and I'm sorry for all that had to witness that.

You know, you coloreds should give it a rest. He called that heckler a "****-r", not all Blacks. And he was correct: a Black who behaves like a boor is a ****-er, and a shame to all fellow negroes.

Also, his remarks about what would have happened to such people fifty years ago were on the mark. What he said is true: they'd have been hanging with a fork up their behinds. And God knows perhaps it was better when minorities could be controlled immediately by the majority, by whatever means necessary.

At least back then you didn't have Blacks killing other Blacks by the dozens every week.

He's trying to save his career. He knows he shot himself in the foot and it was caught on tape.

That could be. I don't think it is that huge a deal, his career was not exactly booming to begin with.
