what is the distance of the number plate that they test your eye sight on when taking a driving test?

the distance is 20m or 76 feet

Was 25 yards, then became 20 meters, then I think they messed it about when number plates became smaller........................sorry, I'm wasting your time because I no longer know the right answer!

If you are taking your test you should have the Highway Code. I bet the answer is in there.

If not, phone a driving school, they should know.

15m - 20m.......... i think.... if your unsure you can see that far.... cheet.... they always do that at the beginning of the test, so take a look at a couple of EASILY identifiable Number plates at about that distance before you go in....? maybe even have someone drop you off, and get them to park in the open... like in the road, not the car park, and at the correct distance...

if you are talkimg about the eye test chart it is based on 20 ft,
if the office doesnt have 20 ft available the nthey us a smaller chart corrected for the distance they have

In old money it is 75 feet.
