My phone was stolen. It was pay as you go. I called T-mobile and asked them to cancel the sim card and they said they don't do that. Why? Mobile phone theft is so bad just now so why do they not put an end to the trend by stopping ths kind of stuff?

T Mobile are a waste of space !
I had my phone / sim card stolen on march 20th this year , i reported it to them ( within 1 hour of it being stolen ) (i had paid that month`s bill already ) then in , May i got a bill for £186.74p . for that month`s rental & usage !
I rang them and explained about my phone being stolen and that i never recieved a replacment phone/ sim from them , they said nothing was on record of me ringing them to report it and that i still owed them the bill !
They have since sent another 3 bill`s for rental charges for the stolen phone ! Total waste of space i would`nt recommend T mobile to anyone , I am still waiting for them to take me to county court as i have the proof of the phone call to them from my home telephone bill ( call lasted 22 min`s )

It would be pointless for the service provider to cancel a PAYG sim card.
Whoever ends up with the stolen phone, they will throw the sim in the bin and this will not be used.
This makes it a pointless task.
