I walked in to my best mates house the other day to find him on his knees with cooking another mans socks!
I asked him when he turned from tradition and started to act this way and he broke down to tell me he had cooked socks for some time. He had gone off his old scrubber and dodgy boiler and was enjoying the liberating experience of cooking socks like they used to in the wild west (San Francisco I think he meant).
He was so good at it some men had even paid him to cook their socks using his mobile deserted car park visiting service as their wives had lost the knack of getting all the dirt out of the seams.
He said all you need is an old pan handle, a pan, a bit of fire, some water and soap, a funnel and pipe to get the water in for the cleaning and I too could be a sock cooker. I declined as I was happy with the results I got form my hoover.
What would you do if your best mate had started to act this way with his laundry? How do you convince him to start doing it right again?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's hilarious. And I'm referring to the whole picture you've painted. It's almost like a cartoon! But I'm also laughing at how you so want to change his way of cleaning socks. Us humans are always in search of Pygmalion projects! And there you stand with your chisel, ready to dig in as though your buddy were a piece of unhewn marble. I love it! Thank you so much for this entertaining piece of literature.

I felt this way when my boyfriend announced he was going to drop anchor in brown bay, he wasnt the sea faring type he'd always preferred to stay at home eating hot fish yoghurt.
