Time... With family. Away from work. Without hassle and hussle and bustle.

Joy... Simple things, like sitting in an almost-dark room staring at the lights on the Christmas tree, remembering Christmas's past. Sharing food and fellowship and gifts with friends and family.

Life moves too fast anymore. Christmas has become the same way, if you let it. Of all the times of year that we need to slow down and remember what's really important, this is it. And the gift of doing so is what I want most for me and my family this Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you. May God's richest blessings rest on you as you rise above materialism and hurry to find what Christmastime is all about!

Well, for the whole world, health, peace, and good will tword man.

For myself a holiday that my mixed up family all gets along in the same room together,if only for an hour.

Every year someones feelings get hurt, or someone takes something the wrong way. So sick of this!!

Would like to be a "Walton" or "Ingals" family member. Because at the end of their hour together they all kiss and make up , our family simply doesn't talk for a few months.

The poorest 50% of the world's population to evaporate, thus relieving the strain on the planet's resources and the burden on the developed economies. Perhaps the hangers on who earn a living from these unfortunates could also disappear.

Being a single Mom and a Grandmother the thing I would most like for Christmas is for the younger generation(s) to realize that it isn't just a gift giving extravaganze nor a popularity contest to see who holds the Family Christmas Dinner.

I would like to see all four of my kids, 16 to 32, listen to their only living Grandmother and myself about some of the Holiday Traditions we used to celebrate. I remember all 8 of us kids piling into the car and traveling an hour and a half, both ways, to be with our parents' families...I remember that we were lucky to have one present under the tree from our parents and one each from each set of grandparents....my maternal grandmother always gave me a Nancy Drew book for Christmas and to this day I know that reading those instilled such a love for reading that I have done the same for my kids and grandbabies and they are all avid readers.

I remember the fun putting up the Christmas tree after we tromped out into our woods to cut one down. We always had popcorn strings and homemade ornaments and lots of homemade cookies and goodies because that is what was in the budget. If my kids would just start some of their own family traditions they will have many happy memories as I treasure.

It seems that the kids, and grandbabies, nowadays have a list a mile long and the most inexpensive item is likely to be $50. I've watched both sets of my grandbabies rip and roar on Christmas morning and the wrappings and toys are knee deep and some of them are broken before dinner. It's certainly hard for young parents and grandparents to resist buying "Just one more" gift after they already have two boxes full for each child but going into debt to pay for Christmas in July is just plain stupid.

What happened to honoring our Parents, Grandparents, Neighbors and Friends by stopping by to sing Christmas Carols and having cocoa and cookies before Christmas? Why do so many people go to church only for Midnight Mass? Jesus is there every day.

I'd like to see some of the younger people take even one tenth of the money they spend or receive at Christmas time and give it to a needy family. I'd like to see the older people take a fourth and do the same thing. Most people do not realize how truly blessed they are to have a warm loving family, a beautiful home, nice clothes and warm food on the table, a comfortable bed to sleep in.

Desginer clothes? You could buy an entire outfit for a poor working parent for the price of one pair of jeans. Spend some time thinking how you can make the life of a total stranger better....secretly adopt a family for Christmas and give them gifts, none of your family or friends will miss a few. What about all of the lonely people in VA or other hospitals, nursing homes, shelters etc....couldn't you brighten someone's holiday without putting a big dent in your own?

I don't mean to preach as I used to be just as guilty until I started, many years ago realizing that my kids and grandbabies would need help in college...now I put half of what I want to spend for presents and put it into their savings accounts. Yes, I also donate to the needy...go out of my way to do so actually.

Hope You All Have A Happy Holiday Season

I would love to have my mum, brother and niece here with me and my daughter-or us there. Unfortunately, that would require the rather material-and pricey-airline tickets! But I really miss Christmas with my mum!

Selfishly -----I would like to have my whole family at my house for a wonderful dinner and to have a day that no one was picking on anyone else.

Worldy----Just to have a break from all the bickering and to have people get a long for one day. They might actually like it and try it another day of the year. LOL
