They aren't super common but they aren't really weird or uncommon either. Kenzie is usually a nickname for McKenzie, which is a name that has become more popular over the past 5 years or so. Shelby always makes me think of a character in a mystery book. lol. dont know why. I like Kenzie though.

Shelby is a famous name, not heard of it as first name though, it would be funny if your surname was Mustang or Cobra!! ie after Carroll Shelby who gave his name to modified muscle cars
Never come across Kenzie, well not without the Mac in front.
So as first names they do seem a bit naff. Whatever you call your sprogs, they will hate it in the future. There is a lot to be said using more conventional names, unless you are the Beckhams or Geldofs....
And what is wrong with "Liam" Bel! it is a good old Irish name (ie William)

im from scotland and have personally not heard these names very often, i know one Kenzie and that is his nickname as his last name is McKenzie. I like the names, Kenzie for either a boy or a girl and i don't think they are too common.

I think they do - sorry. They sound very current, very today and will be out of fashion in a few years' time. Think of all the Kylies there are around now. Also think about the image they will project in 20 years' time when your child is tyring to get a job - fashionable names sound very shallow whereas more classic names - William, David, Claire, etc. - sound very solid and dependable and also sound like the earer of the name comes from a solid family background.
It's a prejudice, I know, but today's Chantelle's and Romeo's have been given a bad deal by their fashion-loving parents. Stick with the traditional names and you can't go wrong.

I know a girl name Shelby. It's a nice name, but it's for a car too. I also know a girl named McKenzie. I would go with MacKenzie because then she can go by Mac, Kenzie, or Mackenzie. For Shelby she could go by Shel(but that's what you find on a beach) still a pretty name though but not my favourite

They do sound common. When we were naming my puppy we wanted to think of a not very common name, and we acctually came up with Shelby for her, and i hadnt heard of anyone with the name Shelby. So we thought we were safe from people saying, you named your dog after me? But when I came back to school and was applying for jobs at daycares; in each daycare there were 2 or more Shelby's. So I found it is a common name. And well now my puppy has it too. But I still think that it is a very cute name. (its easy to yell too when they did something bad!;-) )
Kenzie is usually short for Mckenzie, but I think that it is a beautiful name too.

Kenzie is way too common, and it's not a nice name anyway, imo.
Are you a Ford Mustang fan? lol That's the first thing I thought of when I read Shelby. I think Shelby is for a car, not a girl.
Here are some better ideas (my fave girl names):
Leila, Hannah, Kaylee, Ariel, and Melody

Sorry but yes they do. Shelby sounds like the name for an industrial estate. Kenzie reminds me of that chav out of Blazin Squad that went out with Jodie Marsh. Sorry x

I work with schools in scotland and these names are very common now... I was in a class in a school in Edinburgh and there were 3 girls in the same class with the same name (can't recall what it was exactly) some thing like Fifi Trixiebell. Go for the old ones...... They will have become pretty unusual again. x
