it's something i wrote about my grandma who has alzheimer....
hidden in my closet
i keep painful memories
on the top shelf
hidden from everybody
all dressed up in pink
there's the doll you gave me
so many years ago
when i was your "baby"
i remember so well
it was for my birthday
and we were in your bed
on this bright childhood day
after all those years
she smells exactly the same
and it breaks my heart
to see her up that shelf
but i can't look at her face
without thinking of this day
and your warm embrace
i will never forget
you were my world
now you don't know me anymore
i was your little girl
and you were the one i adored
sitting on that shelf
up in my closet
tonight i watch my doll
breaking my heart again
and if i take her down
and squeeze her in my arms
i can feel the pain
a knife stuck in my heart

Its really Wonderfullll.I did'nt know TODAY's generation had this great talent.U've done a gr8 job and anyway i'll pray for u and ur grandma...I think u'll be a poet

That is very touching. One of my grandmothers had Alzheimer's and it is a very difficult thing to watch. I think tou definitely wrote this with your heart, and that you love your Gram very much.

Really wonderful! It gave me goosebumps, which is weird because music (with a voice, etc.) usually gives me goosebumps... Great writing, dear... keep it up! :-)
