Dear Heather,
It is my experience that when a boyfriend or girlfriend says that "they need some time,or to think", they already have. It might be their way of letting you down easy. If your partner isn't mature enough to say exactly what they feel and that they want to break up, you're better off without them. He is putting you in a position you can't win. Keeping you guessing, and trying to make it work when you have no idea what he wants. It is not fair to you. So let him think things out. Just make sure he knows that you will not be waiting anxiously for him to figure things out. Be nice , but cut him loose. If he can't be mature about it, you must.
Good Luck!! I know it will be hard, but it is a learning experience! Remember your feelings are just as important!

That's a really vague question......are you suspicious that he is cheating when he needs time to think? Do you have proof? If so - break it off - he is not worth it.
If you don't like that he needs time to think when there is something he doesn't want to talk about and then avoids the situation - you have to confront him about that. If he doesn't want to deal with you about that - break it off - no relationship can survive that.
If he needs time to think when you are fighting and he does that to avoid him lashing out at you - that's good that he takes control of himself and calms down.
Other than that - I don't know. If there isn't really a reason to take time and think - ask him about it when he's not thinking about thinking...lol. Good luck!

it depends on what the situaton is. if you really love him then you would respect his decision. you would want him to do the same for you if that were you saying that you need time to think. thats what a relationship is about respect. he needs time; he needs time. just let him know that you are going to be there for him. ig you tell him that you are not going to wait forever he'll get the impression that you really dont give a damn about him. dont wait forever though, cause as a girl needs to be loved. just tell him that i'll respect your decision and i will wait but out of respect for me let me know soon.

You give him the time. Give him all the time he needs while you go find someone else who KNOWS how they feel about you and don't need "time" to "think". It's an age old excuse -- he won't be thinking, he'll be out with someone else.

Give him his time to think and respect that. But mention that you will not be waiting around forever for him to decide whatever it is hes thinking about. Make that perfectly clear to him.

your question makes no sense, so give him the time he needs and if it is for a while then use that time to find some one new
