Is there some reason you don't believe they salad in America? Yes you can probaly get just about anything you want in America. Okay so the image that all Americans are fat and they don't eat salads is bull - I know many people that Love them and eat them all the time!! Just becasue the stats say that one country has lots of obese people doesn't mean that everyone is!!

I live in the state of Tennessee in a town called Nashville. It is the town where nearly all of the country western music comes from. Also alot of the pop and rock music is made here. Everyone in Nashville is on a diet and everyone in Nashville eats salad. We have so many different types of salad that it gets confusing. In restaurants there are 20 different salads with 40 different kinds of salad dressings.

I like the answer that says "yes, americans invented salad, or at least salad dressing" and the answer that says thier salad bar in the USA has "40 types of dressing and everyne is on a diet"
Have they any clue how much this says about the USA lifestyle ?

American restaurants tend to have some very impressive salad bars-with the majority of the items being healthy options. Even low fat/low calorie dressings or red wine vinegar to top your salad. Funnily enough,when I visit my family in Dallas,I see loads of very slim people! Odd that! I suppose that means that stupid generalisations have a tendency to be WRONG.
