God's will and plans exceed the capacity of human understanding. It is possible that everyone lives forever, but the Bible does not say this. One thing is for sure, faith in Jesus's love and forgiveness WILL make your existence in this life easier, it WILL help with the burdens that come to us in this sinful world easier to bear. It WILL give you hope for a better life after this one.

Religion got started because people were afraid of death. (Just as they are now and always have been.) The concept of an afterlife greatly eased these fears. So, that explains Christianity and heaven in a very small nutshell.

Why do some Christians think they are the only ones that are going to go to heaven? Well, because they are trying to make themselves feel superior to anyone who does not share exactly the same beliefs they hold.

When you think about it though, it makes a lot more sense to suspect that only God can know who will or won't go to heaven.

And these Christians are just asking for it by thinking they're on the same level as God because God doesn't like such arrogance -- or at least that's one of the tenets of Christianity. (You know -- "the meek shall inherit the earth ...") Hence, one could make the argument that Christians who go around saying "you're going to hell!" are the only ones who are really going to hell ...

Catholics have not always believed that protestants and orthodox could reach heaven, and vice versa.
I m sure there must be some christian churches that do not believe in heaven. After all there are some jewish people who believe in reincarnation, there must be some christian believing in it too.
Since it is not sure that heaven exists, it's impossible to convince you that people following other religion go to the christian heaven.
May be the muslim go in a seperate heaven and a seperate hell of their own. If there is one single heaven and one single hell for all religions, then there are chances that it will not look the way christian or muslim believe it looks like.
Any way you look at it it does not matter, because wether you go to heaven or not, you should do what's good in your life, even if you had to be be punished for it. Heaven and hell are just tools to convince those lacking moral standards, like santa claus for children.

Other religious people can not go to the christian heaven because their heaven is a christian belief, some religions don't even believe in a heaven so why would they care anyway? The same is true for the christian idea of hell.

It is not only that Christians think they are the only ones that go to heaven, within various denominations within Christianity, they tell you that they are the only ones that can. As a consequence the Jehovah's Witnesses will tell you that they are the only ones who will inherit the earth, the Seventh Day Adventists tell you that you cannot go to heaven because you don't worship on Saturdays and the Baptists tell you that you cannot go to heaven because you are not immersed under water when you are baptized, and I could go on and on. Love God, do good and you can't go wrong, that's what I think.

When Jesus Christ comes for the second time all who did not know him, and never had a real chance to get to know him spiritually, will learn of him. The Jews will bow down in reverence and feel sorry for never having accepted him yet and will realize that he is, in fact, THE MESSIAH that has been profesied of since the beginning of time.
Anybody can go to heaven once they realize that there's only ONE WAY to get there, and that is, in fact, through the Atonement of the Only Begotten of the Father; the Messiah, who is Jesus Christ.

Jesus said "no one comes to the Father but by me." He meant that unless you believe he is the Son of God and that he died for your sins and rose on the third day you would not be saved and would not go to heaven. No man gets to heaven on good works only by the blood of Jesus.
After all he shed his blood for you so you wouldn't have to die like he did for your sins. Read the book of John and maybe that will explain this or talk to a minister.
I have always believed so I have never faced your doubts.
When in doubt read the instructions--the Bible.

In John 14:6, Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me.

Pretty simple really.
I struggle to think how criminals of any kind could go to heaven whilst people who have led good lives wouldn't, but Jesus really is the only way.
It also says
"the vilest offender who truly believes receives an instant pardon from Jesus"

We don't think we're the only ones getting into heaven. Any one who is loving, kind, etc. can get into heaven. Anyone who doesn't question someone else's faith. If you show love for another person you can get into heaven. To me it isn't the Christians who think they're the only one's getting into heaven, it's the other religions who believe there is only heaven and no hell. The ones who worship devils. And the ignorant ones who really teach their followers they're the only one's getting into heaven.
