I built a body shop in my back yard and now I work from home.
I like to brag that I haven't had a job in this century. (I started in 99).
If you're thinking about all those "get rich quick working at home" offers you see everywhere don't do it. If it sounds too good to be true it's probably a scam.
I know a lot of people who tried and lost money. If you have a skill or talent and a love for something that's when you can build a profitable business. You have to decide for yourself what you want to do. It can't be based on a magazine, newspaper or television ad.
Don't sign up for one of those scams. They just take your money and abandon you. They blame you if they're scheme doesn't work. They say you're not doing it right or trying hard enough. They won't refund your money.
Right now there are several scams on TV. one is that work from home on your computer thing.
Then there's Lipozine, The latest incarnation of the "magic" weight loss pill that says you can keep eating like a pig and not exercise and still lose weight. They even tell you that you won't find their product in a reputable pharmacy or drugstore. Desperate people will buy it anyway.
Then there's Enzyte. The pill that makes a man's penis bigger and firmer. This scam has been around for a while. Nobody took it seriously before the invention of Viagra.
Smiling Bob is smiling about all the money he's making from these bogus pills.
You have to go to a doctor and admit you have a problem to get a prescription for Viagra. People who are too embarrassed to talk about it buy Enzyte and get scammed. They're usually too embarrassed to complain when they get no results.

The world is full of dishonest people. If you do a web search before you sign up for one of these offers you'll find plenty of unresolved complaints.
Posting an online complaint is the only way to get back at the crooks. You won't get your money back but you might keep a few other people from sending them money.

I feel that it's a personal choice. It depends on what kind of person you are and what your home life is. If you want to be home with kids, then it's great. Personally, after taking 1 1/2 yr off work to be home with my daughter, I decided that IF I had all the money in the world, I would still do something (part-time work, volunteer, school etc...) just to get out of the house for a while. I think most of us need that personal time away from the house and the daily chores/routine. But if being home all day and night drains you, then you definitely need to work outside of home.

It is great if you can find a venture to make some real money, unlike the big talk mumbo jumbo from those scam artists who claims to be able to make $7- $8 thousand dollars a month. The only people making this kind of easy money are drug pushers.

I think it's a great idea.
You have to be willing to put in some major hours and understand there may be no money coming in at first.
Good Luck.
