Or should they earn respect by being a good physician? Why don't they really listen when you tell them that you can not take a certain medicine. If they listened more life would be easier. Maybe they should take into consideration that my body belongs to be and i am not stupid!

I have no desire to be a doctor just the desire for them to show some respect to their patients

A medical license is the evidence of long years of studies, resulting in graduation. Doctors save life, look after our health and sometimes work in really bad conditions. They do deserve respect, but I would also mention that we should look up at people for their human values too.
You can be a doctor AND care only for money without any form of ethics. Should we look up to you then?
Some persons are struggling with three jobs to raise their kids and provide for their relatives too without complaining one bit, others come from a violent home and survive every day, saving little by little in order to be able to get their own place.
Police officers are getting on patrol every single day, risking their lives not only for pay day.
I do respect everyone, but look up to people who really have an ethic, not a diploma.

No. They are fallible like everyone else. Most people would be amazed at what their doctors don't know. You have to remember that the medical occupation is learned just like any other. They had to study and earn grades like every student. Some got good grades and some...not so good...just like all students. Why not look up to a truck driver? He had to study and practice and put in lots of training time to earn a CDL, isn't this the same thing?

Doctors, like the rest of us, are human beings. There are good doctors and bad doctors. If you do not feel comfortable with your doctor, change doctors. Most doctors are hardworking and care for their patients. However, there are some doctors that are just into medicine for the money and do not give a fig about anything but the money. You are the one who knows how your body feels, if it does not feel right to you and your doctor does not seem to care, get another doctor. When you find a good doctor stick with him.

Only those who lead an exemplary life, just like Pastors too. Do not look up to those who have bad manners as these are normally deregistered once caught red handed.

no i wouldn't say doctors in general should be looked up to. They are the same as you or me. they can be good people or bad. it's nice to think you can trust your doctor but its also nice to think you can trust your accountant.
Haven't you heard all the horror stories with the doctors of death. not that i want to put anyone off or anything

i kind of look up to doctors because of the amount of work they had to do to get that license, the knowledge they have, their dedication to helping people etc. of course there are exceptions, doctors who are not good at what they do; have a horrible bedside manner.
