Executive MBA classes are taught on weekends. Most of the students have jobs. Usually, the students are mid level managers, and their company pays for the degree.

At the top schools, the classes that the Executive MBA students take are exactly the same as those taken by the day time students. They don't have as many choices in electives (each cohort usually votes to decide what electives will be offered).

I taught Advanced Corporate Finance to both full time MBA students and Executive MBA students at Wharton. The material was identical. The EMBA students met for double sessions on Fridays and Saturdays every other weekend. while I had two single sessions per week with the daytime MBAs.
