Buy a little something for the ones who helped you get there. Example parents.
Pay of debt as fast as you can and then save some of it.
These good habits will help you make sure you don't piss all your money on dumb stuff.

The very first time I earned real money was about 10 years ago.
Major purchase: saved it and "bought" a mutual fund for $2500. Much later a 401(k) and an IRA.
Other purchases: Needs...clothes and shoes, food and coffee, books

Well, many moons ago when I received my first pay cheque, I took my mom and dad out for dinner and the next thing I did was buy the latest Queen album and after that I bought a bottle of tequila and shared it in celebration with my friends. I was 18 at the time.

I bought 45 rpm records. I earned the money babysitting. When I had a real job in a store I bought clothes and Beatles records. Yup. I am that old.

Well, it was many years ago and I bought a brown purse...my own proper real purse! Before that I'd only had silly little purses. It was something to put my newly earned money into...though it never stayed in it for very long!

I didn't buy anything yet. I saved it in the bank to save up to get more money for a drum set. Usually I save money instead of spending it. I like the feeling of having a lot of money, not a lot of stuff.

First I bought enough food to make me feel full. There was never enough in our house , then I shared it with my sibs , then I bought a transistor radio so I could listen to MUSIC [ cause " Life with out music isn't" ]

A Bahne skateboard. I babysat and saved every penny for months until I had 35.00 and then I finally went out and bought my beautiful skateboard. (this was in the 70's)
