why do older people were raincoats and not younger people?

They wear raincoats because it's raining or has the potential to rain. At one point and time, we were raised to wear appropriate clothing and outerwear to fit the seasons. While I am not "that old", I am old enough to remember.
Younger people, my oldest two kids (14 & 18) don't like wearing appropriate clothing for the weather outside either. Therefore, I think that the younger generation prefer fashion over appropriate clothing.
Heck, to be honest, I prefer a thin jacket like coat to a winter coat, even when there is a foot or more of snow outside. LOL.

So that when the buttons fall off they can do them up with string. Younger people would just go and buy a new one. There's a joke in there somewhere and it's got Mac in it. Gonna bug me all day now. Grrrrrrrr.

because they're wiser n dun care bout the fashion
young peoples look for fashion and feel shy & embarassed to wear things that doesnt have "branded logo" on it
it's different thing with old folks
old folks normally look for comfort, cheap, easy to go..

i guess that's all about it
i think we might be like them too when we're become old
when the time come, ... NO BRAND SHOULD BE OK, AS LONG AS IT'S GOOD, CHEAP & EASY TO GO

They all watched Mary Poppins when they were younger, and are terrified they will take off if they used an umbrella.

Most of the young cant afford one. THE younger Rich have rain coats.

probably because younger people tend to put fashion before warmth, comfort and waterproofing. whereas older would do the opposite.

Because we are smarter and know enough to protect ourselves from the elements. That means we don't like to get wet.
