My 13 year old daughter has a thigh length denim skirt. What are the girls wearing for sock/shoes etc with it

I would tell my daughter to put some leggings (or tights) under that skirt. No offense meant, but she's a little young to be showing that much leg, and possible bottom if she forgets what she is wearing and bends over. Besides, the mini and legging look has come back in style, so she would actually be stylish. She would then have the option of wearing whatever color she wanted on her legs, plus it will help keep her warm in the cooler weather.
Then I would suggest a pair of peds and ballet flats to go with it. If you don't know what peds are, they are the nylon material in a below the ankle style that only covers the foot, so she wouldn't have any visible sock line with the leggings and flats. Similar to what you get when you try on shoes in a store, only with a finished hem at the opening to keep them from fraying or rolling.

If its a mini/ above knee (girly) skirt then go for flats/ thongs
But...
If its not a girly skirt, for example, no ruffles, just straight or A-line skirt, occaisionally skater shoes look ok- Dunlop Volleys or some other canvas shoe- for those generally footlets look best with them because it looks a bit weird to have normal socks showing with skirts...
