No i do not belive a student should fail. Because university are a continuing education, as long as a student pays tuition the student should have the right on weather or not they need to go to class. In short if the student feels the need to blow a semester of tuition, then that is the students problem. This is taking in consideration that the student is paying their own way, now if the student is on financial aid then yes i belive there should be some sort of reformand.

What was the requirement set by the instructor. If he/she required that you be in class then yes. If you had special needs then you should have talked to the instructor for premission.

If you just thought you were your own boss and could just waltz in and out of class as you saw fit, then shame on you for not giving the instructor the respect and professionalism they deserve.

I mean is that the way you would act with a real job. absolutly not, so try to practice some real life stuff.

Absolutely not. The students are paying the money to be there, so they should have a choice to go to class or not. Its not the smartest thing to not go to class, but it should be up to them. The only reason they should fail is if they get an F in the classes.

Some universities go as far as demanding no more than 15% absenteeism from classes. Honestly if you miss a lot it is difficult to know what is going on when you are not in class.

Irregardless of time spent in class, the question should be, did the student pass his or her exams? If yes, than they should pass the course.
