His understudy was van der Gouw.
- Schmeichel's successor was Bosnich.
- Nick Culkin (not Rachubka) played 10 seconds or so in a game against Arsenal after van der Gouw got injured during the match. Bosnich was injured before the game.
- Fergie then brought in Taibi, and you know what happened
Next season, he bought Fabian Barthez. Bosnich was let go, and Roy Carroll was his understudy now. Andy Goram had a short spell too.
After Barthez left came Tim Howard. Carroll continued to be backup.
Then we now have van der Sar, plus Kuzczack(?) as understudy. Carroll was released, and Howard left on loan.
That's about 10 then.
EDIT: I forgot Ricardo. Third choice Spainard who had a couple of games.

Look man the big question is who were the better of the lot! forget about bosnich and the other 2nd string goalkeepers just keep the main ones in mind:
barthez, kuzcak, van der sar.howard, carroll, ricardo

Two main ones that I know of are that French guy Barthez and the one they have now - Van Der Sar - but no doubt they have used 2nd string goalies when neccessary too; and I probably missed a few; not being a fan

You've all missed Andy Goram who joined on loan and played 2 or 3 games for them...i win!!
