Life is full of many material and tangible things, but what about things such as love or hate. These are things that cannot be truly defined by science, yet they can be more powerful than anything that one can see, or touch. Without love, and hate, we would be as robots, existing for nothing......yet for some reason, our lives seem to be guided by these emotions that we cannot explain? Do you think love was an accident of nature?

I'm not asking whether we fall in love on purpose, or hate someone on purpose.......I want to know if you think these emotions originated from some type of matter floating around in space...which would be concidered an accident of nature...I'm talking when our exsistance first came to be....did love evolve from a rock?.....or was love already here when our planet came to be.

Love is not an accident of nature. From the moment a person is born, he/she has the ability to love. It's only a matter of who and when. I guess you could say that the matter of who and when you will love is an accident. But I kinda think accidents are meant to be, too. I mean, what are the odds that your finger will get burned if you light a match? There are a lot of other possibilities. But among all those possibilities, just one can happen. So I guess it's meant to be, too.
I hope I'm making sense.
Sorry...

Well Put... Life is full of many things we can't explain. Even material stuff were developed by people driven by emotions. Let's say the phone was an invention driven by the need of communication and sharing when away. it was the feeling that created it. many things work the same way.. science explains feelings related to pain though. I think love, hate, grief, happiness and all are just part of the nature of the living, since animals have some too though in a primitive form. Lack of emotions would most definitely be an accident... A serious one

True love is a miracle ...... and a miracle is that positive event which is caused by such factors as are neither fully known nor imaginable and hence looks inconsistent or super normal. I prefer to call it a miracle due to the positive connotation it implies .... accident has a negative connotation.

To fall 'in love' yes, an accident. Otherwise I think love is completely natural to us. Whether it is for the right reasons (towards a living creature) or the wrong reasons (for money and other physical things).

No way- It isn´t an accident. It is a gift. Love/Hate are two sides of the same coin. Both are strong , both can make the person vibrate with the emotion.

First of all, good Q!

Personally, I think that love is not an "accident" - instead I think it is a blessing. I realised how lucky I am that I have loved. I realised that it is better to have loved and lost it rather than not having loved at all.

Exactly not. It is the outcome of ones feelings and emotions for some other and its true respect by that some other.

The same way that life is an accident. When you look at the probability of
one sperm find one egg, etc... it is all an accident.
