Sau Ming Ming will be the tallest person in the NBA when he gets there. He is currently getting in shape and working out. He is 7'9. Yao Ming is only 7'5.

Currently Yao Ming is the tallest player at 7'5, if your asking history that distinction belongs to Manute Bol, who stood 7'9 (4 inches taller than Yao. He is the tallest NBA player to date.

FYI: Shawn Bradley who used to play for the Dallas Mavericks is actually 7'6 and not 7'8.

Currently, yes, Yao Ming is the tallest player in the NBA, standing at 7'6".
However, the tallest player of all time in the NBA was Georghe Muresan, who stood at 7'7".
Muresan was a couple milimeters taller than Manute Bol, who also stood at about 7'7", not 7'9"- that's a gross exageration.
