Before attempting to remove malware you must switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.
Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it. All the following programs are free for personal use;
You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.

You need to install one anti virus;

http://www.mozilla.com/ Firefox web browser and Thunderbird e-mail program.

Instal both these web browsers, turn off javascript on one and use that browser for vising unknown websites. They don't support Active X so thats one less way for problems to get on your pc.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

If the virus one of the latest few and you are unable to purchase Virsu Security software at this moment in tim ethen try using Mcafee stinger which can be downloaded on their site, Not sure what the link is but if you want I can send it to you, have the latest release. It does the same job as anti virus sofware but without needing to purchase the Anit Virus Software which is still recomended

Have you tried CWshredder? This program finds variants of coolweb search hijackers.
A lot aof these trojans will not let your antivirus programme delete them properly.
download cwshredder. Start your computer in safe mode, run cwshredder, then any other antivirus software that you have installed, ( AVG is particularly good, and it's free).
then reboot your system, and run the programs again.

security packages may not be working because the process is still running. Try killing the process running in the background (if you're sure which one it is), then run spyware removal or security program. If the trojan restarts itself then you may need to reboot the computer in safe mode to shut it down.

If antivirus and spyware remover software does not work, you can try to restore the computer to an older working configuration. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html

In that case then just reformat your computer so it only has windows xp on it and re install all of your software back onto your computer. It will be as good as new again.
