One of my writers. He is the only person I have ever met to survive so many extraordinary events. I have known him nearly twenty years, and he always seems to turn up when a country I am interested in is in a state of uproar.

I can go halfway around the world to do some research about a specific project, and there he is, doing anything from helping the locals raise money for a well or medications, or digging sewage ditches, or advising a minister of finance.

Right now he is fighting leukemia, staying in the states, and still manages to take care for others. When he is alert, about 3 hours a day on average, he is still working. I put him on salary, because he has so much information, and when alert, can give details of almost every country's economic history and prospects from memory.

He never forgets anything, but rarely retaliates against anyone who has wronged him.

I have met far more famous people, but sometimes people who seem like regular guys have the most amazing life story.

A teacher I had in the fifth and sixth grades ~ Mr. Greg Williams; he gave me a love for archaeology, poetry, drama, creativity, history, classic movies, and many other things...all the things I'm passionate about today can be credited to him. My friends and I visited him every year after that on our last day of school, we invited him to our high school graduation, and I invited him to my wedding ~ and on the morning of, no less, because I'd forgotten to send him an invitation ~ and he came! Since then(it's been seven years now that I've been married), I've written a few letters and always Christmas cards back and forth. He is truly an extraordinary man :)
