They say that by wearing an earring in the left ear makes you gay, but since where I live guys wear them in the left or right and are still straight, I have to say that it does not matter much.

To some cultures yeah, left=straight. But right does not really mean gay. Some homophobes are just scared of wearing their earrings on the right side in case they'll be labeled gay. What's your earrings position got to do with your sexuality anyway?

It was my understanding that a guy was gay if he stuck his junk where it don't belong. Didn't know cross-dressing was a conclusive indicator. Although if he is cross-dressing on one side and not the other then I'd say he's not gay because those...umm... people(and I use the term loosely here) are generally very maticulous about their attire. Or maybe he's just half a q---r. Why would you want to know about a guy with a queer-ring anyways?

Either or. It wasn't really much of a symbol back in the 80's, and now you really can't tell at all from the location of a piercing.
